Changes to our US MGA Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Agency, Inc. partnership

US Map

RSA provides risk engineering, underwriting and claims service in the US for multinational clients across all 50 states and the District of Columbia (DC). Royal Sun Alliance Insurance Agency Inc. (RSAIA) operates as a managing general agency (MGA) that services the US elements of RSA’s global insurance programs. Until recently, RSAIA has been working under delegated authority from Sompo America Insurance Company (SAIC) since our beginning in 2004.

Following SAIC’s merger last year with another company, their corporate strategy has taken a new direction and the existing partnership will be discontinued. As such, we are pleased to inform you that we have contracted with a new partner, State National Insurance Company, Inc. (SNIC) which is “A” rated by AM Best and is admitted in all 50 states and DC.

We will start issuing all new and renewal policies effective July 1st on SNIC paper. All policies issued on SAIC paper will continue to be handled in run-off by RSAIA until expiration.

As has been our practice, we have complied with state laws by annually notifying brokers and insureds of the non-renewal of policies. This process allows us to conform to multinational program requirements. This year, we will again send a non-renewal notice for policies expiring July 1st and later. The reason stated for these non-renewals will be “due to a change in business strategy.”

Our cross-border service proposition is built on flexibility, ease of doing business and a commitment to deliver — as well as having in-depth knowledge of multinational solutions and the complex US market. Please be assured that RSAIA’s proposition has not changed and we are prepared to continue providing the same level of coverage and service to you going forward as we have in the past through RSA’s own MGA and our partnerships with these new highly rated carriers.
