In 2016, 1.9 million Canadian households lived in condos, accounting for more than 13 per cent of Canadian homes.
Due to popular demand, the RSA Broker Marketing & Communications team recently hosted the webinar ‘In the Grey Area: Understanding Condo Insurance’ as part of RSA’s Education Series. This webinar was hosted by Broker Marketing team Director, Sue Jackman and facilitates by Pacific Regional Sales Manager, Michael Caron. They were joined by industry experts, Rob de Pruis from IBC, Julie Skelton from HUB International, as well as Jason Rivait, Toronto lawyer specializing in condominium law from Miller Thomson LLP.
With over 2600 participants attending two separate sessions, we had a record breaking number of participants as well as questions from our brokers who were all eager to learn more about this timely topic. During the webinar, we discussed the causes and impacts of the condo corporation crisis on various stakeholders as well as the importance of education and best practices for unit owners.
For those who were unable to attend these sessions, we created a downloadable tip sheet that highlights the material covered in the webinar.
What’s covered in the tip sheet?
- Major factors contributing to the condo crisis
- Tips for condo corporations to mitigate risk
- What to consider when speaking with customers
